L’UNESCO célèbre la Semaine africaine 2015 26 au 29 mai

[Translate to francais:] Africa week will be launched at UNESCO on 26 May with a programme that includes an exhibition, movie screenings, conferences and a cultural evening.

[Translate to francais:] The President of UNESCO’s Africa Group, Lejeune MBella MBella, who is Cameroun’s Ambassador to France and the country’s Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, will open the conferences on 27 May with Zohour Alaoui, Morocco’s Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO. The discussions will focus on the threat of terrorism in Africa, on peace education, cultural diversity and sustainable development in Africa.

Also through next week, UNESCO will host an exhibition of African crafts and the screening of three African feature films: Timbuktu, directed by Abderrahmane Sissako, Virunga by Orlando von Einsiedel, and The First Grader by Justin Chadwick.

A cultural programme will take place on 29 May in the evening with the participation of the Director-General of UNESCO and performers from across the continent.
