The second extraordinary session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions took place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris 23-25  March 2009.

Participation of civil society

In accordance with  for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions and with Decision 1.EXT.IGC 5 adopted at its first extraordinary session (24-27 June 2008), nongovernmental organizations (ONG) having interests and activities in the field covered by the Convention wishing to participate as observers to a session or all sessions of the Committee, are asked to submit a written request to the Director-General of UNESCO. Are eligible only NGOs who respond to the criteria of Annex II of Decision 1.EXT.IGC 5.
