In Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust

Every year around 27 January, UNESCO pays tribute to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust and reaffirms its unwavering commitment to counter antisemitism, racism, and other forms of intolerance that may lead to group-targeted violence. The date marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz Birkenau German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp on 27 January 1945.

UNESCO strengthens sustainable development and climate change readiness in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe has been making strides in integrating sustainability into its education system. To ensure that the Zimbabwean education system is safeguarding educational infrastructure and systems from climate shocks, the country, with the help of UNESCO, has started equipping learners with the knowledge and skills to understand and address climate change, sustainability, and disaster risk reduction.
