Phase III (2023-2026)
Following the adoption of the MONDIACULT 2022 Declaration, UNESCO and the European Union renewed their cooperation for a third phase of the programme for 2023 to 2026.
In this phase, eight countries are receiving technical assistance to formulate evidence-based policies and actions to safeguard culture and promote creativity, and to reinforce the role of culture for sustainable development. This will be achieved through technical assistance and different capacity strengthening activities, policy dialogue at the national and global levels, including multistakeholder teams for an inclusive, participatory, and sustainable process.
Countries working on the cultural and creative industry landscape:
Belize ; Djibouti; the Dominican Republic; Jordan; Nigeria; Rwanda
Countries working on a sub sector of the cultural and creative industries:
Chad (on the film sector) ; C么te d鈥橧voire (on the music sector)
The regulatory frameworks will be designed or revised, based on the country鈥檚 priorities, over a period of 18 to 24 months. These processes will involve several phases including a diagnosis, (sub)sectoral mappings, trainings, multi-stakeholder national consultations and peer to peer learning exchanges. In order to ensure long-term results for policy formulation and implementation, UNESCO facilitates inter-ministerial cooperation to last beyond the project.
