In light of World Press Freedom Day and celebrating the resilience of journalism to deliver accurate and reliable information worldwide. It has been difficult for Sudanese journalists to find solid ground to report since April 2023.

Introducing projects under the CI sector targeted at Sudanese journalists to bridge the gap of disinformation and hate speech online and to allow the free flow of information using digital platforms, AI, and community-based messages to increase social cohesion and encourage peacebuilding.

  1. The role of AI in supporting women journalists’ online presence in digital platforms (introduce women journalists to the field of AI and its diverse routes and tools)
  2. The importance of Journalism in Climate change. (Train journalists on developing climate change stories, monitoring climate change natural disaster hazards, and developing community messages to be shared across Egypt and Sudan through different communication mediums).
  3. Combating hate speech by training journalists on the fact-checking component to identify hate speech campaigns online targeted to the community or journalists.
  4. Bringing communities together through the radio. Messages developed by the community to encourage social engagement, decrease disinformation, and combat hate speech. These messages will be tailored by the communities themselves.
