Celebrating 20 years of empowering creativity
Empowering creativity
For over two decades, UNESCO has spearheaded the protection of the diversity of cultural expressions. It has provided vital guidance to establish innovative cultural policies that strengthen the social and economic rights of artists and enhance the right to access culture.
UNESCO also fostered international cooperation in the field of creativity and amplified the voices of cultural professionals. The International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) has invested US$ 11.5 million to support over 150 projects in developing countries. All our efforts are founded upon the groundbreaking 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
We invite all our stakeholders to join in local, national, regional and global celebrations to empower creativity for sustainable development.
