
Renee is an international creative economy expert with a specialization in the audio-visual sector, and 20 years of experience in content strategy, public policy, investment promotion, film finance, corporate governance, and international trade. As Jamaica's second longest-serving Film Commissioner, Renee led the development of the local screen industry - promoting the country as a film business destination, advancing policy and legislation, monitoring economic growth, catalyzing film finance, leading national film delegations, negotiating co-production treaties, and providing oversight for 700+ film productions. She has also held leadership roles at prestigious institutions such as the Harbourfront Centre, Women in Film & Television, the Canada Media Fund, and the Toronto International Film Festival; and advisory roles at the Association of Film Commissioners International, C15 Studios, Telefilm Canada, and the European New Dawn Fund. An International Women’s Forum (IWF) Global Leaders Fellow, Renee has completed Executive Leadership certifications at Harvard Business School and INSEAD in 2023 and holds a MA in Communications and Cultural Policy with a specialization in the Management of Telecom Innovation and joint MBA in Arts Management from York University.
