
Mauricio is a cultural manager and social researcher specializing in cultural governance and civic engagement. He has extensive experience in arts management, information system design for cultural projects, and initiatives that strengthen civil society's ability to engage with cultural policy-making and collaborate with public institutions toward more sustainable cultural governance ecosystems. Mauricio holds Joint Honors in Anthropology and International Development Studies from McGill University and an MA in Media, Culture, and Communication from New York University. He was the co-founder and director of Realidad Visual (2001鈥2010) and the Peruvian National Summit of Culture (2011鈥2014). He has also worked as a research associate for Tandem, a Peruvian cultural policy think鈥恡ank, and served as technical secretary to the Peruvian Alliance of Cultural Organizations (APOC) from 2017 to 2019. He directs Asociaci贸n Civil Solar, a non鈥恜rofit organization promoting open government principles and practices in Latin American cultural sectors, and he is co-founder and co-director of the new Culture and Arts Policy Institute based in New York.
