Madeleine Barry serves as a Project Officer (Publications) at UNESCO, bringing extensive experience in publication management. Joining the Education for All Global Monitoring Report in August 2011, she progressed from a production coordinator to Publications Manager in June 2015. In her role, Madeleine oversees the production processes of all publications and documents and liaises with the Education Sector Publications Committee and the UNESCO Publications Board.
Madeleine plays a crucial role in the oversight of the production of Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report publications and documents. She monitors quality control across various stages and coordinates activities among editorial, graphic design, and translation teams. Madeleine recruits and oversees individuals and companies involved in the production process.
Prior to UNESCO, Madeleine held positions at international organizations including the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). At IEA, she coordinated statistical report production, while at OECD, she contributed to producing the OECD Observer magazine. Madeleine holds a Bachelor of Law Degree and a Master’s Degree in Publishing Studies and is fluent in English and French. Her expertise and dedication contribute to UNESCO’s mission through impactful publication initiatives and knowledge dissemination.
