UNESCO is working with Safe to Learn, UNICEF, and the Coalition for Good Schools for an event called - Ending violence is education’s business too: Galvanizing cross-sectoral partnerships to end violence in and through education - on 6 November 2024. It builds upon the existing commitments made in the 2015 Learning without Fear Resolution, the 2016 Call to Action by Ministers, and the 2019 Safe to Learn Call to Action.

In light of the focus on learner-driven tools, the SDG4 Youth and Student Network facilitated by UNESCO, will contribute an online event concerning the issues of cyberbullying at schools and in higher education.

This event coincides with the Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children that took place in Bogotá, Colombia on 7th November, which called upon governments and ministers to support learners’ perspectives in shaping educational policies and practices for safe and inclusive schools, where the unique and critical role of education will be examined in more depth.

The GEM Report's Thematic Lead, Anna d'Addio, has been invited to present the key findings on cyberbullying of the 2023 and 2024/5 GEM Reports during this online event during the session 1 on what is Cyberbullying and who is impacted by it.
