The GEM Report Director Manos Antoninis and the UIS Director Silvia Montoya will give the keynote speech during the West and Central Africa Sub-regional Consultation on 2024 Global Education Meeting. The 2024 GEM will build on the Accelerating 鈥淧rogress Towards SDG4: Stock take of Transformative Actions in Education鈥 meeting convened by the SDG4 High-Level Steering Committee (HLSC) 鈥 the global education apex body 鈥 on 17 June 2024 at UNESCO Headquarters. Informed by the United Nations Pact for the Future, the 2024 GEM will mark a key moment for education, bringing the entire international education community together, including governmental and non-State actors, to agree on acceleration strategies for the remainder of the 2030 Agenda, keeping in mind the education transformation vision.

The keynote speech will present the latest data, trends and evidence of SDG4 progress in Africa with a focus on equity and inclusion, based on the 2023 Global Education Monitoring Report on Technology in education and the latest SDG4 scorecard.

This is the first time that the 2023 GEM Report is being presented in Africa. During the event, theof the 2023 GEM Report will be officially released.
