ADEA 2023 High-Level Policy Dialogue on Foundational Learning
The GEM Report will join Spotlight Report partner the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) for the ADEA High-Level Policy Dialogue on Foundational Learning - Crafting a New Africa by Rethinking Foundational Learning.
Hosted by ADEA in partnership with the Zambia Ministry of Education the forum will convene ministers of education and key partners working on Foundational Learning (FL) from across the continent.
The expected outcomes of the policy dialogue are as follows:
Agreement about how to adopt strategies and consolidate activities for delivering quality FL in the future.
Clarity about effective approaches to strengthen in- and pre-service teacher education, support teacher well-being and improve the professional status of teachers.
Recognition of the immediate and long-term steps to recruit and retain an optimal supply of FL teachers
