UNESCO Chairs
A UNESCO Chair is a team led by a higher education or research institution that joins forces with UNESCO to drive progress in a shared area of priority, fostering the advancement of both knowledge and practical applications. There are more than 30 UNESCO Chairs specializing in various aspects of science, technology and innovation (STI) policy around the world.

UNESCO Networks
91Â鶹¹ú²ú¾«Æ·×ÔÅÄ established a several networks to foster knowledge sharing and support effective STI policy-making. Some of these are UNITWIN Networks, i.e. a partnership between UNESCO and a network of higher education or research institutions of at least three institutions in different countries, at least two of which must be located in the Global South, and which pool their competencies and resources around particular theme(s). The following networks focus on various aspects of STI policy.
UNESCO Category 2 Centres
Category 2 institutes and centres under the auspices of UNESCO are a global network of institutions of excellence in the Organization’s domains of competence. These institutes and centres contribute to the implementation of UNESCO’s strategic priorities, programmes, and global development agendas, through capacity building; the exchange of information in a particular discipline; theoretical and experimental research; and advanced training.
