To address this question, a virtual event will be held co-organized by the Education in Crisis and Conflict Network (ECCN) and USAID's Regional Hub for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), in conjunction with the Regional Bureau for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (OREALC/UNESCO Santiago). During the event, recommended educational indicators for crisis and conflict contexts will be reviewed, and a monitoring framework for education for returnees in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras will be presented.
As a result of this meeting, participants will be able to have a better understanding of data gaps and demographic indicators of children in mobility situations. Topics such as access to education, transit, measurement of student achievements, and certification of skills acquired during their migration process will be discussed.
The expert panel will include the participation of Henry Renna Gallano, coordinator of the Education Cluster of the UNICEF Regional Office in Venezuela; Diego Figueroa Medina, consultant in Data Analysis and Visualization of the Regional Monitoring Framework on Students in Mobility Situations (OREALC/UNESCO Santiago); Florencia Saffirio, associate coordinator of Programs for the Right to Education and Educational Innovation (OREALC/UNESCO Santiago); Ernesto Yáñez Aguilar, economist at the Bolivian Catholic University; and Felipe Calderón Guzmán, consultant at OREALC/UNESCO Santiago.
The event will be held in Spanish through the Zoom platform, with simultaneous interpretation into English and French.
