The seminar "From measurement to action: Improving education in Latin America" will provide a space to debate and reflect on the progress and challenges in educational assessment across the region. This event will bring together renowned experts in educational policy, who will share their analyses of large-scale evaluation results and their impact on decision-making. Additionally, the technical and political implications of these studies will be explored, offering a comprehensive approach to improving educational quality in Latin America.

Throughout the day, panels and presentations will emphasise the importance of educational assessment as a fundamental tool for the transformation and improvement of the region's educational systems. Among the participants will be specialists from UNESCO Santiago’s Latin American Laboratory for Assessment of the Quality of Education (LLECE), the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Tecnológico de Monterrey, ministries of education, and others.

One of the key moments will be the presentation of the ERCE 2019 Technical Report by specialists from UNESCO’s LLECE Laboratory. Additionally, there will be discussions on the importance of supporting evaluations with evidence-based processes, with representatives from Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Venezuela taking part.

The seminar will conclude with the presentation of recommendations for advancing towards quality education in Latin America.
