Asia Pacific Inter-Agency TWG on Digital Transformation in Learning and Education
Operating under the Asia-Pacific Network Group on Learning + Education 2030+' structure, the purpose of the Asia Pacific Technical Working Group on Digital Transformation in Education and Learning is to
- Identify and collaborate on key common areas of work and outcomes sought by member organizations,
- Co-develop a coherent and cohesive vision and roadmap in the area of digital transformation education and learning, and
- Provide all children and youth in the Asia Pacific region with quality digital learning and skilling opportunities.
Main responsibilities and activities
Since its establishment in April 2021, the TWG has mapped different areas of digital transformation within the context of education and learning. This thorough exploration has been conducted with the aim of discerning opportunities for collaboration and synergies, both at regional and national levels. Through the mapping exercise, the TWG has identified the activities undertaken by member organizations, shedding light on key priorities while also revealing areas that remain relatively unaddressed. To facilitate seamless communication and information exchange, the TWG has introduced an internal platform. At present, the group is focused on formulating a shared vision for the digital transformation of education and learning. Key areas of work include school connectivity, child online protection, girls in ICT, data and research, supporting national government plans and strategies, training of trainers, and addressing potential gaps, notably in areas such as digital content development, costing, and financing.
