Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Task Team
Who we are
The RCG4 WCA TVET Task Team harnesses synergy among partner members to achieve SDG4–Education 2030 and CESA’s strategic objective 8. Members join forces to improve the efficiency and quality of TVET systems in Africa to build relevant skills that meet labour market needs.
What we do
The TVET task team implements its activities through 3 modalities:
- analytical work and tools development;
- in-country support;
- capacity development.
Through the coordination of the skills and experience of the development partners in different countries of West and Central Africa, the TVET task team intends to define a practical framework conducive to improving the efficiency and quality of TVET systems in Africa to build relevant skills that meet labour market needs. Its work focuses on three main themes:
- Implementation of a TVET information system linked to the skills needs of the market, reflections on TVET-related SDG4 indicators and anticipation of skills needs;
- Development of an improved framework for the governance and steering of TVET in conjunction with the private sector: development of public private partnerships in the TVET sector, training through traditional and modern apprenticeship and training of out-of-school youth;
- Development of an explicit and transparent framework for financing, optimization, and pooling of resources in the TVET sector.
