Launch of UNESCO’s 2022 Global Report Re|Shaping Policies for Creativity

The third edition of the Global Report Re|Shaping Policies for Creativity: Addressing culture as a global public good is published in English, French and Spanish on 8 February 2022.

To mark the release of this UNESCO flagship publication – the only report of its kind globally – , an online launch event is organised on 8 February from 2.00 to 4.00 pm, during the .

Published every four years, since 2015, Re|Shaping Policies for Creativity has become a global authority in the field of cultural policies, providing strategic data and advocacy messaging on key issues for more informed, participatory and transparent governance for cultural and creative sectors.

The launch event will include opening speeches by Ernesto Ottone R., Assistant Director-General for Culture of UNESCO and Jeanette Gustafsdotter, Minister of Culture of Sweden, followed by the screening of video presenting the main findings of the report.

Two panel discussions with question-and-answer sessions will gather:

  • Authors of the Report;
  • Artists and experts from beneficiary countries of the UNESCO project ‘’ (2018-2022), funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, including from Indonesia, Peru, Senegal, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe ;
  • Representatives of the European Commission, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

The event will have simultaneous interpretation in English and French.

The Global Report was conceived as a tool to monitor the implementation of the  since its adoption and facilitate information sharing on the many ways in which the promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions is being pursued across the world. It serves as a benchmarking and monitoring tool, by analyzing current trends, tracking progress and identifying the main advances made, but also the difficulties and challenges faced by Parties and other relevant stakeholders.

 

Participants at the 15th session of the Intergovernmental Committee are invited to follow the launch through the Zoom link of the Committee. Other viewers will be able to watch and interact with the event either through livestreams on Facebook and YouTube.
