Within the framework of the Conference鈥檚 鈥淒ay 0鈥, the Multi-Donor Programme on Freedom of Expression and Safety of Journalists (MDP) will gather UNESCO Field Officers, beneficiaries and partners of the MDP, as well as donors to the programme. This meeting aims at identifying the current progress in the field and how it can be expanded, in order to translate the outcomes of the global multistakeholder discussions around digital platform regulation into practical results on the ground.

  • Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Ali, founder of the Jordan Media Institute
  • Diaby Moustapha Mamy, Senior Advisor, ICT & Digital Transformation, Cabinet of the Vice-President African Union Commission
  • His Excellency, Patrick Muyaya Katembwe, Minister of Communication, Democratic Republic of Congo 

The sessions throughout the days will be led by UNESCO officers and partners from the field.

The Multi-Donor Programme on Freedom of Expression and Safety of Journalists serves to further strengthen UNESCO鈥檚 work at a global, regional, and national levels, by channeling funds towards emerging priorities and the most pressing needs to achieve its mandate on freedom of expression, media development, and media and information literacy.
