Director-General calls for investigation into killing of journalist Mohamed Isse Hassan in Somalia
I condemn the attack that claimed the life of Mohamed Isse Hassan along with so many others. One attack alone is senseless, but deliberately targeting those whose job it is to rush to the scene to provide help and inform the world is an especially grave act. I call on the authorities to investigate this crime and prosecute those responsible for it.
Mohamed Isse Hassan, a well-known journalist for Universal Somali TV, was reporting on the first bomb attack near the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education in Mogadishu when a second such attack took place.
