Belén Igarzábal is the Director of the Communication and Culture Area at FLACSO - Argentina Headquarters. She is a researcher, teacher and consultant in the fields of media, cultural practices, and gender. Belén is the academic coordinator of the postgraduate courses: “Culture management and Communication” and “Community-Based Cultural Policies”. And an invited professor at the University of San Andrés, the National University of Córdoba, and the National University of Tucumán, teaching on diversity, gender and culture. She has collaborated as consultant for UNESCO, OEI, IDB, AECID and PNUD for national, regional and international initiatives. Belén is also co-editor of the book "From Culture to Feminism” and was a member of the Culture Council of the City of Buenos Aires. She was mobilized as expert for the UNESCO-Sabrina Ho program "You Are Next: empowering creative women" and for the EU-funded project in Panama “CREA en PANAMA” to provide a gender perspective to the national strategy on cultural and creative industries. She also works in content curation and production in the audiovisual industry, and developed methodologies and indicators for improving diversity and gender inclusion. Belén holds a PhD in Social Sciences."
