Women In Science Without Borders (WISWB)

Cross-Cutting Themes

Women In Science Without Borders (WISWB) is a gender-inclusive global network of female and male scientists with other stakeholders including policymakers and industry from over 70 countries worldwide. WISWB has worked to establish healthy relations between males and females in scientific communities, taking science as a common template and language for mutual understanding, inclusion, and advocacy for global concerns and marginalized communities as refugees and at-risk scholars. It has empowered scientists as change makers specifically female scientists with leadership skills, providing them with the necessary tools to enhance their actions in their workplaces and societies, which will be useful for the whole scientific community on local and international levels and will increase the impact of science in societies for the sake of global development. WISWB enhances inter-gender, intergenerational, interregional and interdisciplinary scientific collaborations and considers these aspects the keys to a sustainable future.

WISWB¡¯s flagship programs include the World Forum Women in Science, launched in 2017, which explores themes within sustainable development goals and other vital topics such as women¡¯s empowerment in STEM fields, innovation, science diplomacy, science communication, leadership and entrepreneurship. Additional WISWB initiatives include the Youth Science Forum, expert-led webinars addressing pressing global challenges, mentoring schemes that celebrate success stories and nurture emerging talent, and the Science Is What the World Needs Forum.
