Maryse Project

Cross-Cutting Themes

Maryse Project is a think-and-do tank made up of a network of over 90 volunteers committed to advancing opportunities for young people from Overseas France. Its actions are driven by three key pillars: highlighting inspiring role models in technology and science from Overseas France, sparking interest and aspirations in these fields among young people, and promoting the engagement of young girls in STEM disciplines for their academic and professional pursuits.

Since 2021, Maryse Project has organized the Outre-Mer Girls Tech Day, OMGTD, an annual event designed to introduce young people, aged 14¨C18, to careers in technology and science in a fun and playful atmosphere. With the requirement of a minimum of 50% female participation, the event features hands-on workshops on science popularization, soft skills training, meetings with role models, and design thinking sessions. Additionally, Maryse Project has organized the Regional Conference on the Feminisation of Digital Professions in Guadeloupe in 2023 and Martinique in 2024 (Assises r¨¦gionales Guadeloupe de la f¨¦minisation des m¨¦tiers du num¨¦rique), advocating for more inclusive and equitable digital technologies, in collaboration with Femmes@numerique, Guadeloupetech, MILCEM.
