The Female Science Talents Initiative of the Falling Walls Foundation

Cross-Cutting Themes

The Female Science Talents initiative, led by the Falling Walls Foundation, is dedicated to inspiring and empowering exceptional early-career women in science to advance their careers and assume leadership roles across various sectors. Through its Intensive Track, the programme offers a year-long support system for 20 outstanding female researchers across all scientific disciplines, providing them with mentoring from role models and women leaders, skill-enhancement workshops and career talks, opportunities to build international networks through high-level gatherings and peer exchanges, as well as increased visibility of their research.

In collaboration with the Elsevier Foundation and VolkswagenStiftung, the initiative presents the annual Women's Impact Award, recognizing women scientists conducting visionary research aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. This award honours those who contribute to gender equality and diversity in science and academia. Additionally, the initiative maintains an online gallery of inspiring role models, featuring a global network of high-calibre female leaders from science and industry, serving as a source of inspiration and guidance for future generations.
