UNESCO and partners promote webinar on lifelong learning and launch report

On the 30th, the Organization and partners will bring together experts to discuss the challenges of inclusion in education in times of crisis. Besides, the Portuguese version of GRALE 4 report will be launched

UNESCO in Brazil in partnership with the UNESCO Chair for Youth and Adult Education and the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning in Hamburg (UIL-UNESCO) will promote, on Wednesday (30), a webinar to discuss lifelong learning and education in the context of a global crisis in the sector. In addition to the debate, the Global Report on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE 4) will be launched in Portuguese during the virtual meeting, which is in its fourth edition and brings the theme: 鈥渓eave no one behind: participation, equity, and inclusion".

Reinforcing the importance of continuing education and lifelong learning, these are urgent issues on the education agenda and are gaining momentum around the world. To discuss this issue, this Wednesday's webinar will include the participation of UNESCO Education Coordinator in Brazil, Rebeca Otero; the coordinator of the UNESCO Chair in Youth and Adult Education, Timothy Ireland; the official of the UIL-UNESCO Lifelong Learning Policies and Strategies Program, Ra煤l Vald茅s; the professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Jane Paiva; and the professor at the Federal University of Cear谩, Eliane Furtado.

The virtual debate will also mark the launch of the Portuguese version of the fourth edition of GRALE, by the UNESCO Representation in Brazil. With the theme 鈥渓eave no one behind: participation, equity, and inclusion鈥, the Report is an invitation to countries to make important changes to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. GRALE 4 makes an urgent call for policy review based on the evidence and for greater participation and investment in the education sector, to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
