Latin America is one of the regions leading the debate about digital rights and internet platform regulation, a debate that needs to take into account culture as well as the very diverse social and political contexts of countries in the region.
Join us in this session to learn how several civil society organizations have proposed regulation standards to promote transparency and accountability of large Internet platforms and get an insight into the vibrant debates that have taken place in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and other Latin American countries.
The event will bring together key representatives of different sectors who will summarize and share a unique experience of dialogue and debate that has taken place in the region over the last two years. By discussing the different approaches that make up the Latin American perspective, this event will contribute to enriching the international and multi-stakeholder discussions that will follow during the Global Conference "Regulating Digital Platforms for Information as a Public Good".
