Open Online Course: Internet Journalism and Technology: how to cover its impacts beyond gadgets

UNESCO and the Knight Center are inviting media, journalists and other interested parties to participate in a training focused on technology and internet news coverage, to be held from 27 July to 23 August 2020.

During this MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) on Internet Journalism and Technology: how to cover its impacts beyond gadgets, attendees will find tools to tell stories from the vast universe that today encompass technologies and Internet.

As the main contribution, this course provides tools to find original technology topics, structure and narrate them in a way that is attractive to the public, while providing complex data in an understandable way.

It also explores the dimensions of technology journalism, the context of the stories, the need for technical and legal explanations and the political and social impacts of the stories. It delves into relevant issues too of technology coverage today: infrastructure, personal data, algorithms and artificial intelligence and computer security.
