The Culture Pact for 2030 invites businesses and organizations to join the collective effort for sustainable development

The Culture Pact for 2030 has brought together 19 partners, including private companies, nonprofit organizations, and international entities, with more than 40 initiatives across 16 regions of the country.

The Culture Pact for 2030 is the first global multi-stakeholder platform that uses culture to contribute to the and national cultural policies. On October 18, the webinar 鈥淢ulti-Stakeholder Partnerships for Sustainable Development: Opportunities from Culture to Accelerate the was held, featuring the participation of Minister of Culture Leslie Urteaga, UNESCO Representative in Peru Guiomar Alonso Cano, as well as representatives from the private sector, international organizations, and civil society.

During the webinar, participants discussed the global challenges in achieving the SDGs and how multi-stakeholder partnerships help accelerate progress. Collaboration among governments, private companies, non-governmental organizations, and civil society is emerging as a key tool for addressing the complex and interconnected challenges the world faces in the pursuit of sustainable development.

Minister of Culture Leslie Urteaga stated that 鈥渃ulture is a powerful bridge toward a more sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future. Together, we can harness culture鈥檚 potential as a driver of sustainable development and work toward a stronger and more equitable Peru for all.鈥

Meanwhile, Guiomar Alonso, UNESCO Representative in Peru, emphasized that 鈥渢he Pact is culture鈥檚 contribution to sustainable economic and social development, as well as to climate change adaptation and biodiversity protection through its interaction with nature.鈥 She concluded her remarks by inviting everyone to 鈥渃ontinue working together, to scale up our efforts, to do more, and to encourage other institutions to join the Pact, so we can build a critical mass capable of transforming our societies.鈥

Some of the initiatives currently being carried out under the Culture Pact for 2030 include:

  • Equipping six microcinemas in three regions of the country, in collaboration with LATAM Per煤.
  • Revitalization of the Ikitu, Kukama-Kukamiria, and Taushiro indigenous languages in the Peruvian Amazon, in partnership with Grupo AJE.
  • Creation of murals in various regions of the country with Coca-Cola Per煤.
  • Culture for Sustainable Development Project, as part of LATAM Per煤鈥檚 鈥淪egundo Vuelo鈥 program, promoting circular economy and strengthening the dissemination of cultural expressions in three regions of the country.

These initiatives are just a few examples of the nationwide impact of collaborative efforts and the many possibilities for action within the framework of the Culture Pact for 2030. To date, the Pact has implemented more than 40 initiatives across 16 regions of the country.
