Events around the World

UNESCO invites the global community to take part in the 70th anniversary of the 1954 Hague Convention UNESCO plans to support a selection of events proposed by State Parties.

Throughout 2024, in an overarching celebration, a series of awareness-raising programmes and events will provide an integrated perspective on the innovative practices and approaches to the implementation of the Convention and its two Protocols, and its role in preventing conflict and building community resilience.

To kickstart the year, a major international conference was held in May 2024, in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

States Parties around the world have marked this occasion through diverse events:
