Support

Since 2018, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of the Government of Japan has supported the Global Policy Forum as part of the project "Consolidating the Gains in Policy Development and Capacity Building for the Preservation and Accessibility of Documentary Heritage" funded through the Japanese Funds-In-Trust.

In 2022, MEXT co-organised the 3rd edition of the Global Policy Forum with UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme in Japan whose continued support has made possible this 4th edition of the Forum, “From Policy to Practice”, to be held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 29 October 2024.

The Memory of the World Programme is dedicated to promoting policy development and enhancing capacity building for the safeguarding of documentary heritage, with a particular focus on integrating disaster risk reduction - an area of significant expertise for Japan.
