Assessed contributions

UNESCO鈥檚 programme is financed through a mix of assessed contributions and voluntary contributions. Assessed contributions are mandatory contributions due from States by virtue of their membership. The scale of assessments is based on that of the United Nations, with suitable adjustments to take into account the differences in membership between the two organizations.
