UNESCO Global Geoparks applications
Each year, the UNESCO Secretariat prepares a summary of newly submitted applications, to enable Member States to exercise their oversight responsibility, as set out in the Application Procedure, of the Operational Guidelines for UNESCO Global Geoparks adopted by the 38th session of the General Conference of UNESCO.
According to the of these Operational Guidelines, Member States that have concerns regarding a new application are eligible to send a written objection within a three-month grace period following the publication of the geological and geographical summary of the new applications.
