Seventeen
South Korean K-pop group SEVENTEEN, founded in 2015, travels the world with its thirteen members, attracting millions of spectators and exerting a major influence on young people through their musical productions and choreography.
Since SEVENTEEN was named a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Youth in June 2024, these international events are used by the group as a platform to raise awareness of UNESCO's mission.
Thanks to SEVENTEEN’s engagement with UNESCO and the groupe’s financial contribution, UNESCO and SEVENTEEN have launched an ambitious joint programme, the ‘Going Together’ Global Youth Grant Scheme that funds youth-led projects around the world to address challenges affecting the well-being and development of young people and their communities, including by supporting creativity.
Prior to its designation, the group took part in the 13th UNESCO 91鶹Ʒ in November 2023, putting on its first-ever live performance in France - with over 40 million views online.
