A polling station will be opened in Room V from 09:00 to 13:00. 

The results will be announced as soon as possible in the afternoon in Room I.

  •  will take place from 11:00 to 11:15 in photo exhibition Hall des pas perdus, with a panel discussion from 11:15 to 12:30 in Mir贸 Room. The event will start with a joint visit by the Minister of Culture of Iraq and UNESCO鈥檚 ADG of Culture to the photo exhibition on Mosul, which highlights the ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Old City of Mosul, followed by a panel discussion on the revival of cultural life in the city. Three experts/activists working on the advancement of cinema, theatre and music in the city of Mosul, will be discussing different aspects of revival of cultural life, practical steps taken, hopes and struggles. 

  •  will take place from 12:30 to 20:30 on the 7th floor in UNESCO鈥檚 restaurant and . Showcasing the role of MAB in spearheading UNESCO鈥檚 strategy for biodiversity conservation and as a global leader in socially inclusive environmental management, this event will encompass a presentation of the 50th anniversary artwork by Vik Muniz; Monitoring for the Future: Delivery of drones to beneficiary countries; Intergenerational dialogue between MAB official spokespeople and the award ceremony of the UNESCO Sultan Qaboos Prize for Environmental Conservation. The celebration will be in the presence of scientists, youth representatives and artists. 

  • The event  will take place from 13:15 to 14:30 in Salle XI and . This event will present the highlights of the 2021/2022 global edition of the flagship series of reports on World Trends in Freedom of Expression and Media Development. Organized in collaboration with the Permanent Delegation of Sweden, the event will also include an overview of the original data-driven analysis covered in the report and will feature a high-level panel with speakers from academia, civil society, the UN, and the media sector.  

  • The event will take place from 13:30 to 15:00 in Room I. With the objective of addressing the 鈥淕lobal Call against Racism鈥 launched by Member States in December 2020, this high-level event, organized by the Social and Human Sciences Sector, focuses on the crucial role of global leaders in spearheading advocacy efforts to combat racism. This initiative follows and builds on one of the key recommendations put forth by the 鈥淯NESCO Global Forum against Racism and Discrimination鈥, organized in March 2021, which kicked off UNESCO鈥檚 series of anti-racism efforts. This high-level panel will welcome the following participants: H.E. Epsy Campbell Barr, Vice President of Costa Rica, H.E. Juan Jos茅 Bremer, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Mexico, Martin Luther King III, global human rights activist, scholar, Achille Mbembe and writer, Tania de Montaigne

  • The high-level event  will take place from 13:30 to 14:50 in Room IX. UNESCO will launch a strategic roadmap that sets out the core science, resource, and capacity needs at Marine World Heritage sites in the context of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021-2030 (鈥淭he Ocean Decade鈥). This event will showcase tangible examples of transversal cooperation among UNESCO Programmes in the field of ocean science and Marine World Heritage as well as support from key partners for flagship initiatives. It will also highlight the recently launched joint IOC-CLT global eDNA project to study vulnerability of species to climate change at Marine World Heritage sites.   • Co-hosted by the Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (IHP) in collaboration with the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Unit of UNESCO and the University of Southampton, the event , provided an opportunity to enhance synergies between academics, professionals, and decision makers in the water sector in discussing the vulnerabilities to hydroclimatic hazards in SIDS and explore pathways to resilience. Additionally, this event contributed to developing an implementation plan for climate adaptation in SIDS within the framework of the IHP IX (2022-2029) 鈥淪cience for a Water Secure World in a Changing Environment鈥. It also enhanced UNESCO鈥檚 contribution to the SAMOA Pathway and support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDGs 6 (water) and 13 (climate action) as well as the Sendai Framework on Disaster Risk Reduction. 

  • At the event , the Director-General of UNESCO and Minister Og Fernandes, the Director of the Brazilian National School of Judges (ENFAM) announced a new cooperation that will develop a set of activities to strengthen the training of judges and other judicial actors from Portuguese-speaking African countries in the areas of freedom of expression, access to public information and the safety of journalists. This alliance will be implemented in the framework of UNESCO's Judges鈥 Initiative, which has already trained over 23,000 judicial actors from 150 countries on these issues through a series of massive open online courses (MOOCs), on-the-ground trainings, workshops and the publication of several toolkits and guidelines.

  • The event  will take place from 11:30 to 22:00 in Room IX and online. This global online event, held on the occasion of World Philosophy Day 2021, celebrates philosophy in all parts of our planet with the overall theme of intercultural philosophy for peace and sustainability in the time of crisis. It will be comprised of two plenary opening and closing sessions and five regional webinars organized in all UNESCO鈥檚 regions 鈥 Africa, Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, Europe/North America and Latin America and the Caribbean. All regions will take turn to deliver interactive sessions and to pass the philosophical baton to the next region to reflect on the role of philosophy in helping make sense of the modern world and in finding solutions to the complex global challenges of today.   

  • , will take place from 13:30 to 14:30 in Room XI. This event aims to present the status of linguistic diversity around the world - and generate renewed interest for more coordinated global actions towards preservation, support, and promotion of languages. The WAL provides the global community with a new perspective for more inclusive, comprehensive, and transversal understanding of linguistic diversity. The WAL will stimulate new research and innovation, create demand for new language resources and tools, contribute to the formulation of language policies and legislation and forge new partnerships and collaboration among multiple actors. In the long-term, UNESCO WAL will contribute to the implementation of the Global Action Plan of the upcoming International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022-2032) providing all stakeholders with the online tool and innovative methodology for the assessment of linguistic diversity around the world. 

  • 罢丑别&苍产蝉辫;厂测尘辫辞蝉颈耻尘&苍产蝉辫;鈥Greece and Cultural Heritage鈥 will take place from 18:30 to 20:30 in Room I and will be organized under the patronage of UNESCO by 鈥淢arianna V. Vardinoyannis Foundation鈥 in collaboration with the Permanent Delegation of Greece. This event will celebrate the bicentenary of Greece鈥檚 Independence, featuring personalities and members of the academic world. The first panel discussion will examine 鈥淰alues and Ideals of the Greek culture鈥 and the second panel will discuss 鈥淭he protection of Cultural Heritage鈥.
