UNESCO Institute for Statistics uncovers its brand-new knowledge products
Global Education Data Release
The 2024 Education Data Release includes new data collected from national authorities, household surveys, learning assessments, and UIS partners. This release features 235,596 new national data points, with 54% representing SDG indicators and 46% Other Policy Relevant Indicators (OPRI). Notably, data coverage for indicator 4.3.1 on adult participation in formal and non-formal education has expanded to 200 countries, and data on learning outcomes for the Pacific region has been significantly enhanced with the integration of The Pacific Islands Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (PILNA) data.
New indicator series include disaggregated data for grades 2 and 3 on learning proficiency (indicator 4.1.1), modelled data on completion and out-of-school rates, and regional averages for indicator 4.3.1. Additionally, data on adult literacy by household wealth and sex-disaggregated data on graduates by field of study are now available.
