Regional forum 2024 "Education beyond borders"
In its fourth edition, the regional forum "Education Beyond Borders, Regional Solidarity for Guaranteeing the Right to Education for People on the Move," organized by UNESCO in conjunction with the Latin America and Caribbean Regional Education Group, will serve as a regional coordination platform among ministries of Education. Its aim is to provide a space for technical and political dialogue on the right to education for people on the move. The event is part of the multi-year resilience program of Education Cannot Wait (ECW) and supported by the Government of Canada (GAC).
The regional forum will take place in Santiago, Chile, on January 23 and 24, preceding the Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting on Education 2024. The latter aims to advance a regional framework on public policy for the reactivation, recovery, and transformation of education.
The forum will define regional priorities for coordination among countries, while also strengthening the exchange of successful experiences for the educational inclusion of the migrant, refugee, and returnee population. This will become essential background for the decision-making of countries to make their education systems more flexible, prepared, and resilient.
