Recent changes in Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) and perspectives for continuity
On July 27, 2021 the Regional Bureau for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean(OREALC/UNESCO Santiago) and the Latin American Office of UNESCO’s International Institute for Educational Planning (IIPE) organized the first Regional Virtual Workshop on the Community of Data Specialists for Educational Planning.

The Regional Virtual Workshop provided a group workspace in which nearly 80 officials, civil servants and data specialists from 19 countries of the region participated. They reflected on the changes that the educational information collection processes underwent during the COVID-19 pandemic and exchanged ideas on the prospects for the continuity of the EMIS. This report systematizes the main reflections and experiences shared in the meeting.
