Ministry of Culture of Cuba and UNESCO reaffirm collaboration ties

On Monday afternoon, Alpidio Alonso, Minister of Culture of Cuba, held a fraternal meeting with Katherine Muller-Marin, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for Culture in Latin America and the Caribbean. During the meeting, they spoke of the preparations for the attendance of the MINCULT delegation to the 40th Session of the UNESCO General Conference to be held from 12 to 27 November, in Paris; the progress of the Cuba-Caribbean-European Union Culture Programme, promoted by the UNESCO Regional Office, and the latest trends in the development of creative and cultural industries.
The meeting reaffirmed the excellent ties between the Ministry of Culture and UNESCO, in particular with the Regional Office for Culture, and the willingness of both institutions to continue to work jointly on Cuba’s development priorities.
