Laws, decrees and strategies on teachers in Lao PDR: a situation analysis
The report describes the findings of a study of Lao PDR’s teacher-related legislative documents, including laws, decrees, agreements and strategies. The study examined these legal documents and identified achievements, strengths, challenges and gaps, with a view to informing the government-led process to develop a comprehensive national teacher policy. The study also analysed the documents in light of the nine dimensions of the UNESCO-TTF’s . The recommendations section of this report outlines the components needed for the formulation of the teacher policy. The report was prepared under supervision of the Department of Teacher Education, Ministry of Education and Sports, Lao PDR, with support of UNESCO Bangkok under the Capacity Development for Education (CapED) in Lao PDR programme.
