"Coverage of the COVID-19 vaccine: what journalists need to know",was the course given in January 2021 by the Knight Center for Journalism with the support of UNESCO, WHO and UNDP, to train journalists covering topics related to COVID19 vaccines. The novelty is that this training is now , which makes it possible to expand training opportunities to a greater number of people in Latin America and the Caribbean.

"The pandemic highlighted the importance of universal access to information and leaving no one behind. We are delighted to further promote inclusion in this initiative, adding more languages, and thus reinforce the importance of indigenous languages in Latin America and the Caribbean, particularly in the run-up to the (IDIL), which will take place from 2022 to 2032,"

explained Sandra Sharman, specialist of the UNESCO Communication and Information Programme and advisor of the #CoronavirusFacts project for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The webinar was moderated by health science journalist , and is supported by science journalists, biologists and medical experts from around the world, who share research-backed knowledge and advice for media professionals. In its new video format, those interested will be able to access the training at the time they wish.

This webinar is one more resource offered by UNESCO Montevideo to journalists in the region, as part of its mandate to promote critical thinking and combat disinformation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
