We are pleased to invite you to a webinar on Reading Materials for Younger and Older Children, aligned with “Levelling Guide”. The webinar is aligned with the areas of focus under the “”, and is organized by the World Bank in partnership with Zayed University, Arab Thought Foundation, and UNESCO.
The webinar aims to emphasize the need for more, and more engaging, children’s literature, serialized comics, cartoons, and digital content in Arabic, while promoting awareness of existing resources across MENA. This webinar aims to strengthen guidance to policymakers and practitioners on practical and effective practices to reduce learning poverty, based on each country’s starting point, to help inform policies and practices to improve Arabic language teaching and learning in MENA.
Audience and format:
The webinar is aimed at government officials and policymakers such as heads of departments and deputy ministers; practitioners, such as teachers; publishers and authors; media and journalists; civil society organizations; and representatives from academia, the private sector, and development partners. The 90-minute webinar will feature panel discussions by eminent and well-respected experts from the MENA region with firsthand experiences in efforts and initiatives to advance the agenda on Arabic language teaching and learning.
Dissemination:
Webinar materials will be publicly available after the event through the World Bank, Zayed University, Arab Thought Foundation, and UNESCO.
