During the first three days, from the 14th to the 16th of October, the Introductory course for community wildfire management in Rapa Nui island (Chile) will be held, covering basic concepts, suppression strategies, and the use of the Incident Command System (ICS). Participants will also engage in field exercises to apply the knowledge gained, with a focus on implementing the General Protocol for Forest Fire Response.

On the 17th of October, attention will shift to the "Forest Fire Prevention Kit," a key project aimed at enhancing the resilience of Rapa Nui's ecosystems in the face of the growing threat of climate change. This activity will include a talk on the methodology and impacts of the Kit, culminating in a session on the Incident Command System, aimed at optimising emergency response.

These activities aim not only to strengthen local capacity for preventing and responding to forest fires, but also to encourage the exchange of experiences and best practices in the conservation of Rapa Nui National Park, contributing to the protection of its cultural and natural heritage.
