Improve capacities of Central African countries in promoting and protecting linguistic diversity and multilingualism

The project comprises of advocacy and capacity building activities to protect, preserve and promote linguistic diversity and multilingualism by means of community media inclusion and the empowerment of the freedom of expression, the freedom of the press and universal access to information. The key activities of the project include advocacy workshops on the Global action plan in Cameroun, Gabon, Congo and Chad as well as capacity building on the Global Action Plan of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages.
- In Cameroon, the targeted outcomes of the goal in the framework of the project are integrated in a new multi-sector Peacebuilding Fund project entitled: "Strengthening the role of youth in promoting coexistence and multiculturalism through secondary education and non-formal and informal learning centers in Cameroon". The project will be implemented from January 2023 to July 2024 and will provide specific support to the National Commission on Bilingualism and Multiculturalism in the implementation of the global plan of action for the International Decade of Indigenous Languages.
- In Chad, an information and advocacy plan for the implementation of the global action plan of the International Decade of the World's Indigenous Languages has been developed and its implementation will start in January 2023 with a workshop.
