This publication presents the IlhaMuseu [Island Museum] project. It is a cultural project developed by UNESCO Brasilia on an island called Ilha das Cabras [Goats Island] in the municipality of Ilhabela (São Paulo state, Brazil). This Island is part of the UNESCO Mata Atlantica Biosphere Reserve. After judicial proceedings, the Public Ministry donated the property back to the North Coast of São Paulo communities (Ilhabela, São Sebastião, Caraguatatuba and Ubatuba) and turned it into a public museum. The IlhaMuseu of the North Coast of São Paulo project focuses on the relationship and interaction with the region's communities, reflecting on preserving the cultural and natural heritage. The publication describes the two phases of the project: phase (2022-2023) and phase (2023-2025). The publication focuses on the appreciation of the cultural and natural heritage of the North Coast of São Paulo and the sustainable practices of the traditional peoples of the region.
