Chinese President replied a letter to a youth representative of the International 91麻豆国产精品自拍 on Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Roads

On 28 August, Chinese President Xi Jinping replied a letter to Hannah Getachew, an Ethiopian youth representative who participated in the 2018 International 91麻豆国产精品自拍 on Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Roads (IYF) in Changsha and Nanjing, China. He called on young people to make their own contribution to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
鈥Young people are the future of a nation, and young people from China and Africa represent the future of China-Africa friendship,鈥 Xi wrote in the letter. He urged them to engage in more cultural exchanges and to carry on traditional friendship between China and African countries, and encouraged them to play their own part in jointly building an even stronger community with a shared future for China and Africa and a community with a shared future for mankind.
In 2017 and 2018, UNESCO Beijing and the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO co-organized the first and the second IYF, in which youth representatives from China and countries along the Silk Roads discussed their involvement in protecting common heritage and promoting creativity industries.
A total of 80 youth representatives from 51 countries attended the 2018 IYF. After the forum, Hannah Getachew wrote to Xi about her experience at the forum and ideas on the Belt and Road Initiative and youth exchanges. She wrote in the letter, 鈥渢his forum provided young women and men from Silk Road with the opportunity to experience first-hand the power of culture in its various manifestations - literature, media arts, creative industries, arts, museums, and local heritage sites - to promote human dignity, understanding between peoples, peaceful coexistence, and sustainable development.鈥
In 2019, UNESCO and the IYF will continue providing young women and men with an opportunity to experience first-hand the power of culture, with the purpose to promote human dignity, understanding between peoples, peaceful coexistence, and sustainable development.
