Event
Celebration of World Water Day 2024 in LAC "Water for Peace"
World Water Day is celebrated every year on 22 March to raise awareness and encourage action to address the water and sanitation crisis. Each year's theme is proposed in advance by UN-Water and coincides with the annual publication of the United Nations World Water Development Report, UN-Water's flagship report on water and sanitation issues, produced by the UNESCO World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP) and published by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on behalf of UN-Water.
In 2024, World Water Day and the United Nations World Water Development Report (WWDR) are dedicated to the theme "Water for Peace". This report will focus on how developing and maintaining a secure and equitable water future underpins prosperity and peace for all and how poverty and inequality, social tensions and conflicts can amplify water insecurity.
This event will be simultaneously translated into English and Spanish.
