Call for Expression of Interest for a National Expert (Ghana)

Purpose
The purpose of this is to solicit expression of interest from individuals to work as a national expert in the provision of technical assistance for the improvement of the status of the artist and cultural professionals in Ghana.
Profile of applicants
Interested candidates should possess established experience and knowledge of the policy environment guiding Ghana鈥檚 cultural and creative industries, in particular regarding:
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Policy formulation and implementation
- Legal and regulatory frameworks for the cultural sector
- Intellectual property rights and copyrights
- Cultural diplomacy and international cooperation
- Arts and social transformation
- Arts Business (marketing, networking, fundraising, distribution, etc)
- Constitutional rights and artistic freedom
- Revenues and Taxation in the creative industry
Application and selection process
Interested individuals are requested to carefully read the and submit the application to the UNESCO-Aschberg programme Secretariat (aschberg@unesco.org), by 27 July 2023 (23h59 CET):
- a detailed CV providing evidence that they possess the required skills and professional experience described in the terms of reference
- a completed application form (Annex 1 - see below)
- a financial proposal (Annex 2 - see below)
The candidates will be evaluated by UNESCO in cooperation with the National Commission on Culture of Ghana. Short-listed candidates may be invited for a phone interview.
A selected candidate will receive a consultancy contract from UNESCO for an estimated duration of 7 months starting in September 2023 to carry out the terms of reference provided below. The selected candidate will agree on a set number of working days with UNESCO to be distributed and used throughout the contract鈥檚 duration. The selected candidate will be paid lump sums against the provision of determined deliverables and invoices before agreed deadlines.
