UNESCO Transcultura strengthens sustainable cultural tourism in the Caribbean by supporting product diversification to generate employment, income and better livelihoods. It achieves this through regional integration and cooperation with European countries.

This component maps Caribbean tangible and intangible natural and cultural heritage and carries out a needs assessment of tourism management in all 17 beneficiary countries.

With this background, Transcultura supports capacity building of heritage site managers and other stakeholders in the cultural, creative and tourism sectors, covering areas such as visitor management, sustainable entrepreneurial development and the linkage of new products and services to the tourism market.
