Education is a human right for all throughout life. It is ±«±··¡³§°ä°¿â€™s mission to build peace, eradicate poverty and drive sustainable development by ensuring equitable and inclusive access to quality education. Below are some examples of partnerships and programmes which support this strategic objective:
Global Education Coalition
±«±··¡³§°ä°¿â€™s Global Education Coalition was formed in March 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic caused school closures around the world and amplified existing education inequalities. Bringing together partners from a range of sectors, the Coalition set out to mitigate these disruptions by mobilizing support and coordinating local, national, regional, and global responses to ensure the continuity of learning.
SDG4 High Level Steering Committee
The SDG4-Education 2030 High-Level Steering Committee (HLSC) is the apex body for global education cooperation. It is the global multi-stakeholder consultation and coordination mechanism for education in the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
International Task Force on Teachers for Education 2030
We commit to support teachers through advocacy, knowledge generation and sharing and country support and engagement.
Global Alliance for Literacy
The is made up of 30 countries strongly committed to improving youth and adult literacy. It advocates for the importance of youth and adult literacy and to catalyse in an effective and coordinated manner efforts to improve literacy rates in the countries that need it the most.
UNESCO Global Network of Learning cities
The UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities is an international policy-oriented network providing inspiration, know-how and best practice.
Collective Consultation of NGOs on Education 2030
The Collective Consultation of NGOs on Education 2030 (CCNGO-Education 2030) is a key mechanism for dialogue, reflection and partnership with NGOs working in the field of education.

Capacity Development for Education (CapED)
The Capacity Development for Education (CapED) programme is a global initiative, active since 2003, with a focus on 20 least developed countries, to advance equal access to quality education and lifelong learning opportunities.
Culture and Arts Education
UNESCO works to engage its interdisciplinary mandate in culture and education as part of a renewed vision of education grounded in the respect for cultural diversity and human rights. ±«±··¡³§°ä°¿â€™s wide range of partners help to make the most of the nexus between culture and education.
Our Lives, Our Rights, Our Future (O3) Programme
In partnership with ministries of education and health in 33 countries across sub-Saharan Africa, O3 has reached over 30 million learners through life skills and sexuality education, and an additional 35 million young people in and out of school through media platforms and advocacy. O3 Plus supports learners in higher education institutions to achieve positive outcomes in education, health and gender equality.
Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report
Achieving the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 4) on education requires sound evidence and analysis to support policy-making, facilitate the sharing of good practice, and hold those responsible to account for fulfilling their commitments. The Global Education Monitoring Report (GEM Report) is the global public good that serves this purpose. Established in 2002, the GEM Report is an editorially independent report, hosted and published by UNESCO.
General History of Africa (GHA)
Is a pioneering corpus, unparalleled in its ambition to cover the history of the entire African continent since the appearance of human beings to contemporary challenges faced by Africans and their Diasporas in the world. It is a history that highlights the contribution of African cultures to humanity.
Fit for Life
UNESCO's sport flagship, Fit for Life, is designed to drive sustainable development in and through sport. Fit for Life has three priority outcome areas: equality, education and employability, and wellbeing (including physical and mental health). Fit for Life counts on the support of its Global Alliance of partners from public and private sectors.
Neighborhoods’ CAN (Concord for National Cohesion)
The initiative led by UNESCO collaborates closely with governmental and private stakeholders in the African region. A pilot phase national project designed to capitalize on the potential of sport as an engine for sustainable development and peace is currently underway in Côte d’Ivoire.
UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet)
ASPnet connects more than 12,000 schools in 182 countries around a common goal to build peace in the minds of children and young people.
