Global Education Coalition
±«±··¡³§°ä°¿â€™s Global Education Coalition (GEC), launched in 2020, has grown to over 220 partners across 112 countries, working to ensure inclusive, equitable education and lifelong learning. Members collaborate to mitigate education disruptions, support learning in emergencies, and drive education transformation through targeted, action-driven missions.
SDG4 High Level Steering Committee
The SDG4-Education 2030 High-Level Steering Committee (HLSC) is the apex body for global education cooperation. It is the global multi-stakeholder consultation and coordination mechanism for education in the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
International Task Force on Teachers for Education 2030
The is committed to supporting teachers through advocacy, knowledge sharing, and country-level engagement.
Global Alliance for Literacy
The consists of 31 countries dedicated to improving youth and adult literacy. It advocates for literacy’s importance and drives coordinated efforts to boost literacy rates in the most affected countries.
UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities
The is an international, policy-focused network that promotes inclusive education at all levels, supports learning in communities and workplaces, adopts modern technologies, and enhances educational quality. It fosters lifelong learning, empowering individuals, promoting social inclusion, driving economic growth, and advancing sustainable development.
Collective Consultation of NGOs on Education 2030
The Collective Consultation of NGOs on Education 2030 (CCNGO-Education 2030) is a key mechanism for dialogue, reflection and partnership with NGOs working in the field of education.
Capacity Development for Education (CapED)
The Capacity Development for Education (CapED) programme, active since 2003, supports 20 least developed countries in achieving inclusive education goals. It helps improve education policies, curricula, teacher quality, and vocational training, leading to increased enrollments, better STEM performance, and stronger education systems in participating countries.
Culture and Arts Education
UNESCO works to engage its interdisciplinary mandate in culture and education as part of a renewed vision of education grounded in the respect for cultural diversity and human rights. ±«±··¡³§°ä°¿â€™s wide range of partners help to make the most of the nexus between culture and education.
Our Lives, Our Rights, Our Future (O3)
UNESCO's flagship programme, Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future (O3), supports countries in providing comprehensive sexuality education to empower adolescents. It aims to prevent HIV, reduce unintended pregnancies, eliminate gender-based violence, and create safe learning environments by addressing all forms of violence, including bullying in schools.
Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report
Achieving the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 4) on education requires sound evidence and analysis to support policy-making, facilitate the sharing of good practice, and hold those responsible to account for fulfilling their commitments. The Global Education Monitoring Report (GEM Report) is the global public good that serves this purpose. Established in 2002, the GEM Report is an editorially independent report, hosted and published by UNESCO.
General History of Africa (GHA)
The General History of Africa (GHA), launched by UNESCO in 1964, aims to document Africa's history from ancient times to the present, correcting misconceptions and highlighting its contributions to humanity. Over 35 years, more than 230 experts worked to provide an African perspective, countering colonial biases and promoting a more accurate understanding of the continent's past.
Fit for Life
Fit for Life is UNESCO's sports initiative focused on improving youth wellbeing. It uses data-driven interventions to tackle issues like physical inactivity, mental health, and inequality. By promoting cooperation, boosting grassroots involvement, and tracking results, Fit for Life aims to drive systemic change and support inclusive, integrated policies.
Values Education through Sport
Values Education through Sport (VETS) programs promote active learning, enhance cognitive skills, and increase students' responsibility, concentration, and participation. They are flexible, reinforcing curricula across various subjects like physical education, civic education, and biology. VETS helps students apply values outside school, fostering community engagement, informed decision-making, and respect for others and the environment. These programs also support self-confidence, healthy lifestyle choices, and understanding rights, aiding the transition to adulthood.
UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet)
ASPnet connects more than 12,000 schools in 182 countries working towards building peace and promoting UNESCO's ideals. Member schools focus on education for sustainable development, global citizenship, and intercultural learning. They uphold values like rights, dignity, gender equality, social progress, and respect for diversity, aiming to foster international solidarity and justice.
Category 1 Institutes and Centres
Category 1 Institutes and Centres are organizations directly overseen by UNESCO, with mandates aligned with its goals. They conduct research, provide training, and support educational activities. These institutions play a key role in implementing ±«±··¡³§°ä°¿â€™s programs at regional, national, and international levels. 91Âé¶¹¹ú²ú¾«Æ·×ÔÅÄ established various institutes globally to address specific needs in education and the sciences.
